Evan Lowman,
Assistant to the Instructeur & Webmaster

Evan has been interested in fencing ever since he saw the lightsabers in Star Wars as a child, and in 2002 he finally
gave it a try.

“Fencing is an amazing sport with a rich history and a vibrant future. Adrenaline is what hooks most of us. To face another person in single combat, to use skill and cunning to get inside your opponents head, and to push yourself to
your physical and mental limits to score the final touch is a thrill that can seldom be matched. But what
s even better is that at the end of the bout, we shake hands and can talk together as friends about what worked, what didn't and
what to do next time.”

Evan primarily fences épée (pronounced eh-PAY), but will sometimes fence foil and saber as well.
