I. General Rules
I-1. The Central Coast Fencing Cup (CCFC) will consist of three to five Youth/Cadet/Junior competitions scheduled for the fencing season.
I-2. The fencing season lasts from August thru July of the following year.
I-3. All competitions will be held on the central coast of California. As sponsor of the circuit championship, the CCFF will determine which events will be included.
I-4. At the end of the season, the fencers who participated in the most number of Cup events will be awarded an Attendance prize. Attendance points are described below.
I-5. Competitive trophies will also be given to the top three fencers in each age category according to the sum of the points earned at the Cup events. Competition points are described below.
II. Eligibility
II-1. USFA membership is NOT required. Any fencer whether registered as a USFA member or not is eligible to compete in the CCFCC so long as they meet age requirements.
II-2. Age requirements shall correspond to recognized USFA age requirements. However, no age overlaps will be allowed.

II-3. Fencers that have been ejected (“black carded“) from any Cup event will be disqualified from receiving Attendance and Competitive awards in the current fencing season. Fencers may submit a written appeal of this decision to the CCFF Board.
III. Format
III-1. All events will use the foil. Cadet and Junior events may be run as electric or a combination of standard and electric rounds. Youth events may be run as electric, or a combination thereof, provided the host organizer can supply all needed electric fencing gear.
IV. Scoring
IV-1. For every circuit competition the fencer participates in, they will receive one Attendance Point. Should the fencer participate in multiple events of the same competition, only one Attendance Point shall be awarded.
IV-2. The Attendance Award will go to the fencer or fencers with the highest number of points. If there are four competitions in the circuit then a maximum score would be 4 Attendance Points.
IV-3. Competitive Award scoring for the circuit championship will be based upon Competitive Points earned at each of the circuit competitions.
IV-4. Competitive Points will be based on a modified Olympics point system:

IV-5. Should a competition not fence off for third place, then the third place fencers will receive an equal portion of the points for 3rd and 4th place (or 30 points).
IV-6. Depending on the number of fencers in the specific age for the competition, a factor will be multiplied against the fencer’s competitive placement points to arrive at a total competitive points score for the fencer. The following is a table of competition factors:

IV-7. If two or more age groups are combined, the results of the competition shall be broken out by each age category for determining competitive points.
V. Fees & Registration
V-1. Every fencer participating in the Cup events must complete a registration form. The purpose of the registration form is provide the CCFF with the ability to send the fencer information about upcoming Cup events and to mail awards and prizes to the fencers as necessary.
V-2. There is no registration fee for the Cup this year.
